چکیده
Pomegranate fruit production and consumption are restricted by appropriate postharvest handling practices. 1–MCP (1–methylcyclopropene) is a natural preservative of fruits vegetables; however, its effects on the storage different pomegranate varieties have not been extensively investigated. Herein, 1.0 μL L−1 three soft-seed ‘Mollar’, ‘Malisi’, ‘Tunisan soft seed’ two semi-soft-seed ‘Moyuruanzi’ ‘Dongyan’ were investigated over 90 d (days) under low-temperature at 4 ± 0.5 °C with relative humidity 85–90%. Several indexes exterior interior quality recorded, sensory was evaluated, respiration ethylene also determined. The results showed that peel browning generally more severe in than varieties. Significantly lighter presented from 45 after treatment, 35%, 19%, 28% less those controls d, correspondingly. However, only significantly decreased semi 60 days. A prominent decrease weight loss recorded all five varieties, ‘Malisi’ showing largest smallest difference between control treatments. Through color, physiological, chemical changes, as well properties, better color total acceptance found higher titratable acids vitamin C but anthocyanins most treated 1–MCP. In contrast to control, remarkable suppression peaks whole periodical increase rates activated 30–60 roughly when occurred began increasing. Overall, our findings provided crucial foundation for extending application preservation pomegranates.

Effect of postharvest oxalic acid treatment on ethylene production, quality parameters, and antioxidant potential of peach fruit during cold storage.
The effects of postharvest oxalic acid (OA) treatment on ethylene production, fruit quality, bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity of peach fruit, were examined. Fruits were treated with oxalic acid immediately after harvest and stored at 1° C and 90% relative humidity for 28 days. The oxalic acid treated peach fruit exhibited significantly lower levels of ethylene production, pH, total ...
متن کاملEffects of Intermittent Warming and Prestorage Treatments (Hot Water, Salicylic Acid, Calcium Chloride) on Postharvest Life of Pomegranate Fruit cv. ‘Shishe-Kab’ during Long-Term Cold Storage
We examined the effectiveness of intermittent warming (IW), hot water (HW), salicylic acid (SA), and calcium chloride (CaCl2) on the postharvest life of pomegranate fruit cv. ‘Shishe-Kab’ and extending fruit shelf life during cold storage (3°C). Fruit were subjected to cycles of 1 d at 17 ± 1°C every 6 d of storage at 3°C under IW conditions. Pre-storage treatments were HW (50°C) for 3 min, SA ...

Storage of Lime (Citrus aurantifolia L.) fruits, originally a tropical fruits, in low temperature confronts with several difficulties due to the risk of chilling injury (CI). To develop an effective method aiming to reduce CI, the effects of treatments containing 0, 0.5 and 1 Mg/lit brassinosteroids (BRs) and hot water (HW) including 20°C as control, 45 and 55°C for 30 minute on CI was studie...
متن کاملEffects of calcium treatment and low temperature storage on cell wall polysaccharide nanostructures and quality of postharvest apricot (Prunus armeniaca).
Cell wall polysaccharides play an important role in postharvest fruit texture softening. Effects of calcium treatment combined with cold storage on the physical properties, polysaccharide content and nanostructure of apricots were investigated. Apricots were immersed in distilled water, 1% or 3% w/v calcium chloride, then stored at 5°C or 10°C. Storage at 5°C significantly improved apricot qual...
متن کاملEffect of nitric oxide on biochemical and antioxidant properties of pomegranate fruit cv. Shishe-kab during cold storage
Pomegranate is a subtropical fruit that is widely consumed as fresh fruit and juice, however, its postharvest life is limited mainly due to storage disorders. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of nitric oxide (NO) on antioxidant activity and quality attributes of pomegranate fruit. The fruits were dipped for two minutes into different NO concentrations (0, 30, 100, 300 or 1000 µ...
